Art therapy -- one thing i am interested in furthering my education in. :)

Google alerts.

When Mrs. Archer first presented to the class about setting up Google Alerts for things we might be interested in and want information on, she had us set up one for 'Technology', however, I took it to my own advantage and set up a few other alerts for things i knew i really wanted information on. Today, i spotted this one:

http://geekout.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/26/manga-in-the-heart-of-europe/

The author of the blog talks about their trip to Europe, how they stayed with the kind locals during the night and toured during the day. She talks of how amazing it is that she got the chance at an up close look on how manga/anime is growing just as strong as it is anywhere else in the world.

"..I flipped through “Peach Girl” at the bookstore in Wiesloch. I checked out “Bleach” at a bookshop in Heidelberg not far from Heidelberg Castle, which you can see in Naoki Urasawa’s “Monster.” I could go into a mall, say, “anime,” and be pointed in the right direction. I didn’t have much time for television watching, but I did see “One Piece” in German and “Naruto” in French. And, yes, I bought myself “Yu-Gi-Oh Der Film” from the fair.."

I find this really interesting because it just goes to show you just how popular this stuff really is; it has gone global! :D that way everyone around the world can create their own manga 'addiction'.
I've seen somewhere, and I somewhat agree, a sentence that says:
"Anime: Drugs would be cheaper."
The only problem is, is that it just wouldn't be nearly as fun nor entertaining!!
keep the 'addiction' spreading, everyone! :D

Digital Nation

I think that teaching children at a young age how to use the internet and such to their advantage is a good thing, but everyone should also remember (like the young children being taught in Korea) that it has it's limits and disadvantages, too. we are just going farther and deeper to where we can no longer recognize if all this technology is a good thing, or rather, a bad thing. All we do recognize today, is that we are already too far to tuck tail and go back.
